I need to remove the top end to replace the gaskets. I'm going to send the head out as well.

Is there enough room to remove the head without removing the engine from the frame?

You don't say which bike you have... But on my 900/1000 there was plenty of room

I just did the same for my 1980 kz1000 and I had plenty of room. I am pretty sure that is he case for most of these early KZ's.

PLEASE add your bike's year and model to your signature line. That way folks can provide specific information. Ed

If it's the KZ 1000j on your other posts, the answer is yes.
