So I just got my motor out. Went fine. Was thinking of washing it up. Under the clutch cover you'll see the big cylindrical thing and a little fitting of some sort, right dead center in the photo. It looks like one of the little bushing sleeve things that go on the cam journal bolts. What are both of these?

That metal cover is the secondary shaft cover. It is missing the upper screw in the photo.

The small tube looking thing between the 2 crosshead screws near the bottom of that cover appears to be a dowel pin. Take a look at the inside of the clutch cover to see if you find a corresponding hole for it to fit into. Ed

Thanks Ed. The other screw is missing because the screw also held the clip for the wires that I had to remove

No worries. Got myself one of those magnetic parts trays!

The clutch mechanism looks different on this one vs my 82... Hopefully my 82 will fit (unless there is a reason to use the 81 and it's clutch mechanism). I spent alot of time shining up my current one and don't really want to spend anymore time than I have to doing that!
