Kz1000p oil pump concern

So while I was tinkering with my bike, I was moving around some oil hoses that are hooked up to my cooler located above my header. My concern is, when I unhooked the hose on the right side of the engine...it was bone dry. The hose from the center that leads to the cooler on the left had a very small amount of oil in it. So im kind of concerned that maybe the oil pump isn't in good enough condition to be pushing the oil up through the hose on the left of the engine, through the cooler, and back down into the engine on the right. Could this be a thing?

Low pressure system. Disconnect one line, turn it over and see if oil comes out.

Ok, Ill put that on my list of things to do. Ill probably disconnect it before the cooler. If it comes out, then ill re hook it up to the cooler and see if it comes back out of the cooler. Process of elimination I guess. If it doesn't come through the cooler then would it be the cooler or a weak pump? I guess I could inspect the cooler and try to move oil through it via gravity or something.

You can buy a cheap gauge and fitting. I bought one a AZ for $4. It is for tires but it shows low pressure. I ran it for a while but the vibration made it fall apart. I bought a Doremi gauge but with my oil pump I pegged it. It's for low pressure systems too. Couldn't handle the 25-30 LBS at high rev. I bought a 60 LB sportster gauge and am running it now. It works better than the others. Yours should read 2.5-3 LBS at idle.

Very unlikely there's anything wrong with the pump.
When stood all the oil will quickly drain out of the cooler back to the sump mainly down the return side hose.
Oil usually remains in the feed side as the pump gears are in the way. .

I found the same thing when I checked my oil lines. If (as pointed out previously) oil comes out the line when the engine is started - don't worry, these engines run on higher volume but low pressure because most of the engine has roller bearings (apart from the cams).
You think thats scary, when the engine is hot at around 80kph constant you'll see practically zero psi on the oil gauge, 3psi at around 100kph. If the oil light goes out and stays out while running all is ok.

Thank you all for your inputs. Im sure its fine, I havnt had the bike running this year yet, I just figure the system should have some oil in it, you know what I mean. It has all probably drained back in.
