stock 1000j with header and jet kit

wont rev up off an idel with out choke half way on ? i got 40 pilot jets in now 138 manes second notch from the top clip on needels. floates set. delevac pipe with vance and hines open drage tip , no baffle in it . off idel it will just shut off if I toutch the gas. but I pull the chok half waye it will rev right up . quick too.. any ideas ... pointers

What do your plugs look like. Pic?

lean grey but trying to tune it on vp fuel 4.4

Can't run it down the road its on a tractor frame with paddle tires on it.the dyno jet kit requires drilling out the air jet on the intake side of the carbs.im thinking there's a shaving I can't get out. Would this explain why I cant rev it up unless it's half choke? Also it's open pipe no baffel.

With no baffle you lose top end.

I put a baffel in the pipe now it runs perfect thanks!!!
