I use a C clamp with a PVC fitting to get at the keepers. You have to use a deep socket first to loosen them.

You could use a cut out deep socket as well.

Bought the same one- works like a charm Steve.

The trick with putting the spot of grease on the keepers while the spring is compressed was worth it's weight in gold!!

Several members here have recommended that kit, extremely happy with it.

If you have the means to build your own and like doing this type of stuff... Make your own.

The baby is now 8 weeks old- which gives me a bit more time in the garage. I'm almost done! Just waiting on the 4 oil passage o rings for the head studs.
Don't want to hijack this post- I'll post more pictures to my thread later today.

hello people; I just ordered that tool for $20.00. It's got to be China crap and if a was a pro wrench I don't think I'd buy one. Wish me luck as I've never done the valve thing. With my Shovelhead I gave those heads to a pro.

hello people; I'm new. I used that cheep tool and it is worth it. If I had to use it every day it could not be the best for the long run but in my case it is the right tool. Once you get the lengths correct it's easy. I did rap some tape around the tee insert as it kept falling out . Maybe the factory tool end that sits on the keeper matches as the cheap one moves around a bit. I did cheat as I had a another head that's been sitting in a corner of the basement for experimenting. Too bad that head has a broken fin and one of the plug holes
is messed up.
For the backyard mechanic this tool is two thumbs up.
thanks for the heads up.

PS; Happy Easter
