These are the buckets I have that were in my TC when someone built it in the 80's. I think they might be the RC followers you are asking about . The shims are really difficult to pry out of the bucket. Since I am running stock cams with the turbo, I just put stock buckets back in it for easier shim swaps.

Yes! Those look like RC's. Thanks.
Would be interested in the weight difference from the OEM buckets or whether the holes just compensate for them being heavier/thicker elsewhere in their manufacture.
Any signs of abnormal wear or fracturing between the holes.

They look thinner than a stocker to me. I do not have stocker to weigh but I will weigh a RC on a paint scale that measures in tenths of a gram.

The follower I photo'd weights 32.7 grams. There is a slight taper at the edge of the recess that allows the shim to rock a little to help when trying to pry it out, but the tolerance to the OD of the shim is a lot tighter than the stocker..... which would help the shim not get spit out.

I get 35 grams on my mail scale, but that's probably not accurate enough. ;) Anyone else?

I weighed 4 and came up with a range of 34.5 - 34.8 grams

Only around a couple of grams lighter than stock then.
That's a bit disappointing considering that Ti retainers save around seven grams.
Every little helps though but the small weight loss may explain why no one makes them anymore with very little weight saving in return for all the extra machining although it shouldn't be forgotten that their primary function was to reduce the risk of shim spitting and the reduced weight was a bonus.
