Picked up this bike that was some ones projects. The top of the engine is disassembled. It has a wiesco 1075 kit. Some light marks on the skirts of the pistons. Cylinders look pretty good i guess. The head is complete. I was wondering if there is any use in keeping these used pistons, cylinders, head and other parts. Are these parts that people could reuse them and if so what should I ask for them

If they're good, why not use them?

Have a machinist(or you if you have the skill and tools) measure everything and if in spec, buy some new rings, hone the cylinders and run it!
I don't have a plan and I'm sticken' to it! '77 KZ 650 / 750 GPz custom project in progress

Viton valve seals too. If everything checks out, it should run like a raped ape.

I would be careful about just assembling and running, if as you say the motor came to you apart you have no idea what if anything fell into the open bottom end and why it was never re-assembled. At the minimum I would pull the oil pan and have look from the bottom up.....as mentioned measure everything you can to make sure it's all OK.

Nice score and love that flame paint job :)

What kind of history did you get with it? At this point it would be prudent to check out the bottom end. Dropping the pan is a good start. Crap in the bottom can indicate other problems.
