Hello, noroaches, and WELCOME to KZr!
Perhaps the gasoline soaked filter is partly responsible.
However, there's a filter by-pass system that's supposed to allow oil circulation around a clogged filter.
Imo, it's best to fit a brand new filter, rather than attempt to clean a used filter.
Couple of other possibilities regarding the oil pressure warning light:
Defective sending unit;
Faulty wiring or loose connection;
Clogged oil pump screen;
Poor oil pump performance resulting from other than clogged screen.
Could fit an oil pressure gauge to determine actual performance.
The oil sending unit is relatively easy to remove and replace.
Good Fortune!

Access to the screen and pump is by removing the oil pan on the bottom of the engine.

Perhaps there was no filter, and just the bolt (with holes in it) that attaches the filter cover.
Am unfamiliar with any type of steel filter being used instead of the usual stock-type paper filter.
Perhaps seeing the gutted skeletal remains of a paper filter. :ohmy:
