Ed, I ordered all original gaskets and the rings around the nozzles directly from kawasaki, but forgot the orings between the crankcase and the cylinders. I bought today viton orings at a special shop in my town. Took the original ones with me. As I am in Germany, metric is not a problem for me....;)

Over here trying to find a metric o-ring in a hardware store is like trying to find a metric pair of pliers.  Ed

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHere's a pic of the newer uprated oil nozzles, slightly less chance of leakage.

No sealant required on either the base or head gaskets.

You can't ever go wrong buying genuine kawasaki parts, but I''ll try Viton this time around as well. The kawasaki O ringswon't leak either if you build it right, and remember to retourque the head when cold after a few miles.

Hi,
just a update. It worked out very well everything. All is tight and no oil leaks so far. Confirmed that the Zephyr 550 cylinders fit the GPZ or KZ 550 crankcase and head.
Bike is running good.

Great glad you sorted it,

Is it my imagination, or does the ZR550 head have bigger head cooling fin area?

Hi Tyrell,
i just took the Zephyr barrels. The crankcase and the head are GPZ550 .the Zephyr cylinders do have one fin more than the GPZ ones...
