Get the Factory Service Manual for your bike.

That should supply all the info you need. ;)

Who is going to bore your block? They can tell you.
A Cylmer manual will also work.

really a service manual can tell me the quality of a set of pistons I didn't know that...
and don't worry motor head u tried the best you could from your limited knowledge to help even if the question was about a set of pistons that still remain unknown at least my original question was answered from some one here...........

1170 is the biggest kit you can use with stock 1100 sleeves

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationService data as follows

Cyl. Inside diameter;
Standard=72.500-72.512mm
Service limit=72.60mm max.(or any more than 0.05mm difference between any two measurements)
Piston ring end gap;
(Top and second ring)
Standard=0.20-0.40mm
Service limit =0.7 mm

Just a suggestion use an inside micrometer or if you have access to one a pistol type bore micrometer( calipers are not accurate enough for this stuff. End gaps can be done with feeler Gage's and your caliper)
Good luck

see good help from these folks is all we need :lol: ,
since we arnt ninja techs here... 2.0/2.5 mm oversize pistons will work in a stock sleve a 2.5over size is 75mm witch will make is a 1166, now then the other question for yea guys is .. on the sleve how much metal on the sleeve is left when u bore it over to a 1166,? will it make it thin or have over heating issues/ will over heat if left idle..?

he 1166/1170 kit is pretty common,I don't think it should be an issue unless youre in somepace like Arizona.You could always run an oil cooler and synthetic oil if youre worried about it. :)

1170 leaves .04 inch wall thickness, its just like boring a kz1000 block to 1105. It is too much for the street but has been done numerous times.
What part of mounting an oil cooler do you want to know? Where to mount it? How to bolt it on? Where it connects?
