starcycle header

I have a 77 kz1000. I picked up a starcycle header that has 4 individual pipes that are numbered that go into one pipe. Does anyone know what order they go into the collector?

Once the pipes have been loosely installed, it should become evident how they fit into the collector. As the collector may not be symmetrical, take note of how the collector should be aligned with the muffler so that the muffler will be positioned correctly in relation to the frame.

It looks like the collector is a separate component between the pipes and muffler.

After snugging up the exhaust clamp nuts (with pipes inside the collector), completing installation of the assembly by attaching the muffler to the collector and finally attaching (hanging) the muffler from the frame, may require fashioning a simple hanger strap between the frame and the muffler tab.

Good Fortune! :)

I think Patton provided the best solution. Will say some of the collectors I have seen have 1 and 4 on the bottom and some have 1 and 4 on the top. Some match(top or bottom) 1-2 and 3-4 and some 1-3 and 4-2 - not sure what advantage if any either creates.

The frame isn't raked but me and my dad figured it out and got it on the bike.

Check your clearance between front wheel and header tubes, its possible to end up with your wheel locked between the tubes when getting on the skids hard or going into a corner with some sidewinder pipes. ;)
