this can be done? wow
never heard of anyone changing an ST to a chain.
I know with enough time and money you can change anything on almost anything but i wonder how much work and $$$ this would cost a guy to do. kinda curious as i have a shaft ST as well and ok with it but would love a MK11 one day as well....though i know i would prob have to sell my house to afford it as they are so rare now and expensive as a result. maybe it would be cheaper way to go...ha ha.

The conversion being addressed is probably about replacing the engine in a chain-drive model with an engine from a shaft-drive model, whereby the engine will be modified to gain a counter-shaft sprocket.

And not referring to replacing the engine in a shaft-drive model with an engine from a chain-drive model in order to convert the shaft-drive model to a chain-drive model (not easy, due to differences in frames and rear suspensions).

Good Fortune! :)

The ST frame is wider at the swing arm pivot and pretty easy to convert to chain once the gearbox is done but it isn't a case of just bolting in an existing ZED swing arm.
ST frames are particularly sought after when fitting modern swing arms and wider rims due to the extra clearance for the chain run .
