Even with minimal clearance, a valve should completely seal when the engine is cold (such as during a load test).

If there's minimal clearance, valve leakage when cold is likely due to an issue other than clearance being less than spec.

my valve is not closing I pulled my old spare motor town and almost every valve is leaking from carbon build up
