1000 crankshaft questions

How do you check the inner bearings on a crank and is there a side to side movement tolerance on the rods and crank?

I am debating sending my crank to Falicon to have it rebuilt but I want to see if there are ways to see if its good.

I believe you got to compelety disassemble the crank to inspect the bearings.

without dis-assembling it.
you check for "up and down"by rotating the rod to the top and feeling for "up and down" clearance.
you can check side play with feeler gauges.
there should be specs for what the rod side clearance should be in your manual.
