I'm leavin mine in no need to change now.
The old 79's runnin great love to hear it bark
Talk about a time capsule nothin beats this!
ALSO...if you're having clutch slip issues FIRST before anything
check the adjustment screw under the door on LH side of case (on 77-80's anyway)
Mine was WAAAAAY too tight...had to back off a half turn b4 it even loosened up!! :woohoo:
Backed er off, turned just until I felt it start to resist, then backed off half turn and locked er down.
Took er out, got into the torque range 5-6500 NO SLIP...pulled like a Mac to 100 then backed it off.
That's all mine took, and the first thing you should check.

So I just changed my breakin oil out from the rotella 15-40 to the 10-40 that is recomended and was hoping that would alleviate my inability to get into neutral... but it didnt. I still cant get into neutral until the engine is off.
Also I can feel the bike trying to pull just a little even while I have my clutch handle pulled.
Also my bike doesnt want to coast if I pull the clutch at hwy speeds, just starts slowing down quickly like the clutch is partially engaged.
advice on oil? should I switch back?
Are these KZ's always tough to get into neutral?
Should it coast better? or is this behavior typical of a wet clutch?

You should adjust the clutch throw out assembly first. It's not typical.SevKZ9 wrote: I ride a 76 KZ900 that I just rebuilt.
