What do you guys think of this new oil?

I just put Rotella T 15W40 the new triple protection in my LTD

But these new oils nothing said about JASO MA certification

What are some opinions on this issue?

Go with motorcycle oil?

Welcome any thoughts on this matter

had a 2008 vtx put 48,000 miles on it with shell rotella T6.a friend has put 90,000 on his ST1100 with it.another friend has put 29,000 on his 2001 Goldwing.never any problem with the oil.as soon as I get the kawsaki running right i'll put it in there too.the T6 is the synthetic oil.

Gr8 stuff....all I use in mine.

Might want to add some "ZDDP" additive with it.

Good riding.

I only use oil with a JASO MA certification. Regular car oil isn't good for the wet clutch in KZ's. Some guys have used car oil forever and never had a problem but to me it's not worth the risk

No problem. 15-40 oils are not energy conserving, so they don't have the moly crap that screws up wet clutches. Just avoid 5-30 or 10-30 or anything with 'energy conserving" on top of the can.

+1 on adding some ZDDP.

I have a gallon sitting right here, and the last cert is JASO MA.
Perhaps they changed the label?

Here's a pic (a little fuzzy, sorry) of the Shell ROTELLA® T Triple Protection® Oils Specifications and Approvals label from the Shell Rotella website. Ed

Ahh, they did change the label. Mine makes no mention of 10W 30.
Of course, it is a few years old. I picked up half a dozen cases when a local auto parts had it on sale for around $10 a gallon. Still have 3 gallons left, getting low. :(

tionIt IS JASO MA certified...I must have missed it, last line on back of my gallon.
I'm heading to Wal Mart to get 3-4 more gallons they will price match Farm and Fleet who has it on sale for $11 bucks a gallon. So far my LTD seems to like it and seems like the oil of choice everywhere...
