Valves snapping was created by angryeric116
Hey everyone I am in the middle of restoring my 79 KZ1000 LTD B3. Yesterday my father and I timed the motor, and we noticed that the exhaust valves seem to stick open and "snap" closed when the . The intake valves are not doing the same thing. last night we poured oil over all of the tappets, lobes and just generally all over the cam to let it soak in. I am hoping that good lubrication will resolve the issue, but I wanted to get the forums opinion. Thanks!

Attached is a few pic's off the rolling frame and motor.

Yes, the valves were re ground and new oil seals were installed by a reputable shop. I installed some Weisco 10.25:1 pistons myself. The shop did all of the valve work, I gave them the head with the valves still in it, and got it back with them in it.

makes me wonder if the buckets are sticking in their bores?

maybe remove the cams and see how freely you can slide the buckets up and down.
