What's the easiest way to remove the front sprocket? Also is there any secrets to removing the engine from the frame? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated in this matter.

Imo, the easiest way to remove the front sprocket is with an impact driver.
Standard threading -- Lefty-Loosey.

If using a socket with breaker-bar, with drive chain remaining attached, have an assistant depress the rear brake pedal to help hold the sprocket in position.

And here's another method to hold the counter-shaft sprocket in position while struggling to loosen the nut.

Removing engine from frame --

There's of course the Godzilla method as described in the service manual.

But some prefer the following:
After removing the fuel tank and battery, and removing/loosening the engine mounting bolts, may use tires or other padding on which to lower the bike onto it's right (brake pedal) side.
Finish removing engine mounting bolts. Lift bike/frame up, off and away from the engine.

Good Fortune! :)
