zukdave, Luckily i'm not racing mine. nor did it lock my tires.
650ed, the front is new, the rear is on its way.
I know its not the best idea to put a new chain on an old sprocket, but when you're in a tight spot and your only transportation at the time is the bike... you gotta do what you gotta do to get to work.
Brother (PO) had a new front sprocket. the rear had to order since it has a different rear end on it.
I blame myself for the chain snap tho. I should have replaced it when i pulled it out of storage. 4 years can rust up and stiffen a chain and my common sense knew that. Excitement over a new ride got the best of me. Won't let that happen again.
kzcurt no offense taken, I do know what to look for on a worn sprocket. Had to deal with those on dirtbikes and previous bikes.
