The cams are a custom grind. 1.085" base circle tells me they're a hot street / mild race grind. If you call or email them, they'll be able to give you the lift & duration. They make a lot of cams that are not listed on their site.

The engine came out of a 79 LTD .
The bike was built to show. It was from Wisconsin I think. It was a bank repo. I have never see a cleaner built bike. The welds are so smooth and blended in that it is amazing.
The bike was bought by a friend of mines Son. He got the bike for less than 10 grand.
I had seen the bike in a shop where I had gone to work on another Kawasaki. They had attempted to get it running good but the owner came and got it and took it to the store where they bought it. They had a fuel pump installed which didn't help any.
I thought the bike was just built for looks being the main goal and not performance. I took some clear fuel line with me and remover the fuel pump after starting the bike and watching the fuel pump out the carbs.
I rerouted the fuel lines like the builder had them over the top of the engine after insulating the fuel line.
It had a Dyna 200 and 2.2 coils. The timing was not set and we set it to a basic timing. and the bike will fire off like a stock bike.
The pistons are low compression.
Did I mention the engine has to be removed to adjust the shim under bucket set up ?

That's certainly a most undesirable situation. :pinch:roy-b-boy-b wrote: ...The bad part is you have to pull the engine to remove the cam covers....
What modification is preventing normal removal of the cam cover?
Does the lack of clearance result from a frame modification?
What is the cam cover hitting against to prevent sufficient clearance for its removal?
Good Fortune!

The owner needs a throttle cable right now. They are custom built controls that look like they are for a Harley based bike being that they are one inch. The only markings I found on the controls are a J.

The owner told me the bike would not hook up period. In any gear. He is undecided about what to do about the bike. There is a lot of money in the engine so I told him to drop it into a KZ frame and sell the frame. I know a guy that has a few frames.
