A guy in town rides a stock 2000 Night Train and when I seen him at the store, he told me to burn my bike and buy a real one. This is my bike.

Well, that kinda pissed me off a little and I told him I'd race him and we could burn the loosers bike.
Now's the problem, I don't want to burn my bike. So I'm collecting parts for a Z1A/GSXR streetfighter build, but have some engine questions.
A member here is doing some work for me and offered me a 1260cc big block and 10:5 pistons for my build, but I have been doing some reading and I'm not sure if I should use it or not?
I've read about issuses if you install a big bore kit on a street bike, like overheating, upgading tensioner, welding the crank and undercutting 2nd gear. Would all of this hold together?

I want to take this

and make something like this

and spank that Harley's ass.

I have the exact same GSXR parts as this guys build.

P.S. Is this person in the thread a member here, but under a different name? I thought I seen this bike here before.

I looked at the Night Train specs - 63 hp / 672 pounds! Maybe it should be named the choo choo train!    Ed

If your bike runs as good as it looks run him now. ;)
Go from a 20 roll , and you will pull him as soon as you hit it. Use your trans to keep your revs up high to launch and you should spank him hard.

But of course I would Never break the law so do it on a track

Or send him my way and I will have a go at him

Now that is what I call a Hog roast.
I agree, your bike should give him a good spanking in stock trim, they are quick off the mark, but run out of puff very quickly, it will be a sad day when a Hardly Dangerous can take on a Kwacker.
Of course pics, preferably video of the Hog roast are mandatory, or it didn't happen. ;)

There is something otherworldy about experiencing the sound of an air cooled inline four redlined while heeled over at 35 degrees from horizontal, with the slipping rear tire violently trying to shake you from your perch atop the slewing beast..

Considering the amount of effort that went into building that blue bike, I wouldn't dream of involving my bike in a race that resulted in burning the loser. The fact that you are harboring notions of building a big block KZ for the race tells me that he could have a similar plan. What is to stop him from dropping a 145 inch S&S motor in his bike? Stock for stock you should hand it to him anyway.

By the way that is my bike in both threads. I had forgotten about the thread on ZX10r.net.

I have spanked many a harley including the "night train" on this, 1978 KZ650. That was when my bike was stock. Your stock KZ will beat the harley. There are very few harley's that will keep up with my KZ650. Most harley rider don't have a clue as to what is really fast.

And when I really want to make the harley rider look like they are on scooters I use this.

The over heating issue with the big blocks is because there are no air passages between the cylinders. If you have to sit in traffic for an extended period of time, this could be a problem.

You can do a 1260 in a stock KZ1000 block and keep the air passages. Makes a great sleeper mod, but requires some head work to take full advantage.
