need help determining ring size

i put the compression ring in freely on each cylinder and the gap was 0.051 in or 1.295MM and i know i need new rings and the cylinder bore is just about 2 5/8 or rougly 66.67mm. so i have not been documenting my rebuild but this is my first one and would the bore measurement mean im looking for 67mm rings? the guy who is helping me is away for a week and i cant contact him but i want to order rings i was looking for help. I feel 67mm rings would be right?

beyond ring end gap,what is the piston to wall clearance?

i am pretty sure if you have .051 ring end gap on rings that sat up with .012-.018 you will be needing pistons rings and a bore and hone.

because if those rings ran in those cylinders until you had .051 end gap the bores are worn out as well.

Look at the top of the pistons: stock? over 0.5 mm? It's usually stamped on top of the piston.

believe stock pistons, will measure clearance tomorrow, the piston wall clearance
