The general jetting recommendation I've seen on this forum for stock mikuni's with pods is 20 pilot 120 main. I saw this old Hot Bike Engineering jetting guide on the Kawi Triples resource website and it shows 117.5 - 120 mains for KZ900's and 1000's. Also I am finding that my KZ900 with pipe and stock airbox/K&N filter is running rich with 120's and I think I'll get some 117.5's.

Among the suspects would be imperfect carburetion, or maybe a sticking advancer.Matteson wrote: I'll give those a try. Every time I put new plugs in it runs way better for a while. Although when I'm at a light and start off it almost dies then I push through it. Timing?
Proper carb sync might also help produce a stronger pull-away from idle.
