I bought a new one for my 1000 last year but decided to try and seal the old one because I didn't want to cut the wires.

I pulled the wires back into the grommet and cleaned the wires with naptha then soapy water, let dry and applied Permatex ultra black around the seal and to the wires then pulled the wires back into position.

I also let it air cure for a couple days before re installing the cover.

8000 miles no trouble so far.

I did the same as above with Yamabond. Not a lot of miles on it but has not leaked for a few years now.

UPDATE; over 2 years later and around 25,000 miles since the repair and it is still holding strong B)
