The significants of the engraving "440-SC" I don't know.
The best thing to do is measure the standard inlet cam from the tip to the base circle.
For example the standard Z1 cam measures 36.2 mm,
Whereas, my Norris came measures 37.5 mm.
Meaning that the Norris gives an extra 1.3 mm lift.
Too much lift is not good for street use.
Of course, there are other dimensions of the cam the ramp & dwell.

I always liked the Norris Cams in the old VW motors, they were great. I would think that they are good Cams. Might be a lot for a street motor, depending on displacement and gearing.

Norris 440 SC cams:
Duration @ .020 284*
Lift .437
Application is for 1000-1100cc motors that need help in the ft. lbs. department...
They are also listed paired with a .448 lift cam for a 1200cc street motor without a top of the line cylinder head...
Hope this helps...

That's got to be an old Pogue catalog. I've still got mine too

bluezbike wrote: Great info Racer 54 , many thanks. It's looking like this might be a little too much cam for what I am trying to do.... they may end up in the for sale section.
What are you trying to do?
How big is the motor going to be?
What do you have for carburetors?
Is it a J or KZ?
How do you realistically intend to ride the bike?
