If theres no sharp spots sticking out of them id just use some solvent and wipe them off really good with a rag.
Ive got the cam bearings out of badrinos head laying on my bench at the shop,I don't think anybody ever changed the oil on that poor thing before he got it(big ol nasty grooves in the bearings  )
Somebody out there has to have a source for new bearings other than $130.00 and change for a complete set.I cant bring myself to change just one bad bearing out of a set, kind of like changing one ring on one piston and leaving the rest of the old ones.
Yeah its an Adrion Monk thing! :woohoo:

I've called around to local dealers to just see if there is a possibility one might have some NOS cam bearings. I doubt it but you never know. A few of them are checking for me.

I've had over 100 of those heads through my hands in the last 4 years. You know how many new bearing sets I've had to put in? ...ZERO

I have replaced a few along the way with other used bearings. All get cleaned and prepped. Those were street heads, drag bike heads, dry lake speed event heads, you name it.

You can't go wrong with new cam bearings. It's just an expense you can usually avoid.

Ill try looking around and see if I have an old head with some wailed on fins that's no good, maybe I can recycle some bearings that way.
I just hate to feel like Im 1/2 assing somebody elses work,if something goes wrong on my own stuff I can just do what ever I need to do to piece it back together.

There's nothing half ass about not dumping money into parts not needed. The cams need to do one operation...Spin Freely.

Scotch Bright the cam journals and lobes. Prep and oil the bearings. With no valves in the head, install the cams and spin them. They should spin free with no tight spots.

You can use WD40 and some 1000G paper to prep the bearings.

if the bearings aren't scored and don't have any grit or metal imbedded in them then reuse, do it all the time, if you do change them out make sure you plasticgage the clearances

Same here. Only time we have replaced a cam bearing is if we lost it. Scotch Brite is your friend.
