I would rather use old good OEM fibers than new after market junk for street use. Flea bay has OEM fibers all the time cheap......
and make sure none of the disc's are broken/ cracked as that will cause dragging...
and soak your clutch

For the KZ650 the clutch spring bolt torque spec is 78-95 INCH pounds. That is not a lot of torque. If you tightened yours down too tight that could contribute to the problem. Take a look in the FSM torque table, you should be able to find the spec for your model. Ed

Check the slots in drum while discs are out just to make sure theres no burrs or grooves worn into them also for discs to hang up on,its more of an issure with extra plates which are thinner than stock plates

The reported clutch issue would likely be resolved, or greatly diminished, by a proper clutch push-rod adjustment (see earlier posts in this thread).
Would suspect the gap is too large, and thereby wasting part of the hand lever pull by simply closing the gap, before starting to spread the clutch plates.
Good Fortune!

Did the replacement clutch come with additional disks/plates? I know some of them do and if you do not install all of the new disks then the set will not take up enough space (not equal to original) and you can have the type of problems you are having.

Hey all I finally got a chance to get back to work on my clutch problem. I checked how tight my pressure plate bolts were, and found I had one a little bit tighter then the rest. I loosened all of them and torqued them to 90 inch pounds so far the clutch is working great. Thank You all for your Help.
