No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationLooking for a shop type of service manual for my '78 KZ650 SR. I've only found the shop style manuals for 81 and up. Is the Clymer one any good?

The Clymer has most of the basics,shop manual is better though

Kawasaki factory service manuals have a model application chart on the back cover, so if you get one, make sure your bike is included. Some sellers include a photo of the chart.

Do yourself a favor - buy a genuine Kawasaki Service Manual. It is by FAR the best. Be sure to buy the one for your exact year/model bike because there are differences. Ed

The manual you want is Kawasaki part number 99924-1001-02. There will be others on eBay for considerably less than the above manual (I suspect it is aimed at a collector of manuals or to complete a restoration) so have patience. The manual currently on eBay is for the D1 and D2 models and will also work for you. Way way overpriced for your needs. The manual I mentioned above (1001-02 edition) includes the 1978 D1 model.

You can always pick up a clymers for now till you can get a factory manual,it will cover most of what you need its just not as detailed is all.
Most stuff on these bikes is pretty self explanatory after you do it a few times.

If you want a brand new Kawasaki workshop service manual, specific for your model&year, they make them in the U.K. for $32.95, they have laminated front & rear covers, & they are spiral bound so they stay opened up to the page your on. ..... where they get you is on the shipping $16.95, if you dont want to wait 6-8 weeks, they are on ebay, (e-classicbike.com)...Pete
