Timing chain info for 79 MK2

Timing chain info for 79 MK2 was created by Roadflyer
OK, The chain is working fine in the bike right now, the idlers are new, no slap or noise at all. I did however notice that the cam chain sidelinks are leaving marks on the steel plates that are attached to each of the cam gears, I'm not sure if this is a problem or not.
Your opinions please.

arent those plastic? They are factory 32 tooth right.... Im sure they are plastic....if so mine are marked also....not to worry... B)

Well, i don't know why they would put plastic on there (if it is), but yes, that is excactly the same as mine.

Well, That's a load off my mind! I saw those marks and thought I was in for new sprockets and timing chain. I just got the bike back together after a frame off restoration and noticed the marks when I put my Harmon Cams in this last weekend.

Wal, Thet's a load off mah mind! Fry mah hide! ah sar them marks an' thunk ah was in fo' noo sprockets an' timin' chain, as enny fool kin plainly see. ah jest got th' bike back togither af'er a frame off resto'ashun an' noticed th' marks when ah put mah Harmon Cams in this hyar last weekend, cuss it all t' tarnation.

there is a plastic coating, I had the same problem on my falcon sports coupe.
