just think of it this way; the crank spins twice when the cam spins once.

time for a cylinder leakdown test, might as well do a compression test while you are at it.

Are you counting the pins or links? It should be the pins and #1 will be the first one above the arrow on the exhaust cam and #36 should be on the arrow on the intake cam.

Hey, your exhaust pipe should be on the other side, buddy.

Why do I need to do a leakdown\compression test? it seems to run great, especially having 33k miles. I would however like to swap out these accelerator pump carbs (or at least the bowls) for some regular jetted vm24's, wish I would have took the PO up on the offer when I first bought it.

There usually are VM24SS carbs without the pump available on eBay for decent money. Just be sure you don't buy VM22SS carbs by accident as they look very similar. The VM22SS carbs have an extra inlet orifice at the 10:00 position on the intake side (see pic) so DO NOT buy carbs that look like the ones in the picture if you want VM24SS carbs. Ed

Ed, can I just swap the bowls with regular 24's? that way I dont have to worry about cleaning or other issues with the ones I buy.
