i just got my new kerker lastnight and im putting it on today. is the megaphone suppose to slide over the collector? my megaphone is the same size as the collector and it wont slip on to it.

yes the meg should be slightly bigger.

76 KZ, frame gusset work,1200CC.Ported by Larry Cavanaugh, 1.5mm.over intakes, Carron Pipe, ZRX12 rear end, and seat,96zx9 front end.

meg always bigger for a flow though effect...if it was smaller is would be a choke point or restriction. It would also create a leak as hot gasses could be pushed though the joint.

The end of the megaphone ought to be split to allow you to gently open up the end to slip over the collector end (if it does not initially allow you to slip it over easily).

it does has slits. so i can bend them a little? how far should it slide into megaphone?

its a new kerker for my 750, i put tape on it and pried real lightly and i got it to slide on the header. what a pain in the butt this header was to get it to fit on bike.

it had a 30 year old kerker on the bike (with small kerker emblem). the collector was pretty rusty so it was long over due to be replaced.
