Hi,

After changing my sprockets, chain, and rear tire my clutch has no tension. I have taken the cover off and made sure it is all aligned correctly when I put it back in but no matter what I do there is still no tension-the clutch is just loose. I thought that I might have dropped a part or something, but looking at the schematics online it doesn't appear that I have... help?

Here is the push rod

Here is the clutch cover

Am I missing something?

Also how much tension do I want in the chain?

Thanks!

Nope, its in there underneath the round thingy on the clutch cover. Im assuming you mean the plate with three little bearings in it, right?

ok...I could be wrong but on the other end of the rod is a ball bearing...when you removed the rod it fell out into clutch mech....you will prob need to pull clutch cover and pressure plate....retrive the ball bearning and re-install.....what type of engine?

Well that sucks a lot.
It is a KZ550A.
I guess I do need to change the oil as well, so why not get messy?

the bottom pic shows where the cable goes into the sprocket cover...that is a corkscrew/worm drive thingy and must be put in correct...it looks to me like you need to worm it out and move it back one thread so the arm is more back from the cable hole....

So I tried adjusting where the clutch cable comes in but there is no screw to adjust it, it is just a metal sleeve and slides in and out freely.

If it was the bearing wouldnt the bearing have fallen down into where the push rod runs and be blocking it or causing it to engage earlier? Right now there is no tension at all in the clutch cable... :(

If you took the clutch worm gear thing apart. You may not have put it back in the same grooves. Pull it apart rotate it by one set of grooves then slide it back together. I'm pretty sure the arm that connects to the cable should be pointing away from where the cable goes through the hole.
