Nothing like an oil thread huh? I've been using a different oil lately.
Has anyone used Mobil Super 5000 10w/40 in their bikes. Looking at the website there are no friction reducing additives and is NOT Energy Conserving oil that you don't want to put in your bikes.
FWIW, I put this in my KLR650 the last oild change and it actually shifted better and doesn't seem to "use" as much oil as it did with Rotella 15w/40.
Any down sides I'm not seeing?

It'll work fine as long as you don't run it past maybe 2500 miles service limit.BlackZ1R wrote: Ahh, not this &^%$ again...

I would recommend adding ZDDP.

I buy ZDDP in a product called ZDDPlus but STP does have a good amount of it. Stp will raise viscosity about 5 points, so it makes 10-40 look more like 15-45.BlackZ1R wrote:

OK, Larry here goes.
So I have this problem with my BS34 carbs. I filled them with 10-40 weight oil and now I can't get my bike to run. Any ideas.

That should work fine as long as you have pod filters. If not, switch to 20-50 and lift the needles :side:
As a side note, I just changed the oil in my ZRX to Kawasaki Oil. I swear the headlight and turn signals are brighter now...
