Fuse box question was created by BRABBIT04161991
On the diagram there are 3 wires that plug into the connector from the fuse box but there is nothing going into the connector that would connect these. I'm not using the connector anymore, what should I do with these wires. It's the orange, red/white, and orange/green wire in the pic. I tried to ground the red/white but I keep blowing the fuse, any ideas??

If not already done, could check out the wiring diagram in FILEBASE.

Really not enough info. Don't ground the RED/WHITE wire, it's coming directly off a fuse. That means it's connected to the 12V source.
What year/model are we talking about? What are you trying to do? Any modifications we need to know about?

Sorry its an 2001 kz1000p. The only thing I'm trying to accomplish is get rid of the old bulb fuses for the ones you'd find in your car or truck. There are not any modifications done to the bike other than the new fuse box. What do you mean the 12v source?? like another positive wire to the ignition??

I've been basing my entire rewiring off of this diagram and its not showing where the wires connect to it says just the connector and that's it. I'm so lost when it comes to wiring, but I'm so close I don't wanna take it to the shop now because I know it'll be something very simple, I'm just too blonde to figure it out

The ground wires on most Kawasaki's I've seen are Black with Yellow stripe, everything else is probably electrically "Hot" whe switches are thrown, or circuits are energized.

Does your bikes battery charge OK? Do the brake lights and turn signals work? Headlight good?

So they have to be connected to the 12v source like DiamondSkyBlue1000 said.

Honestly I don't know if any of that stuff works I don't have the turn signals or head light mounted up yet so I'm not too sure.

Now here's something odd I did notice yesterday. When I turn the key on I get the oil and neutral light to come on but when I turn it all the way over the lights turn off as if I have no power.

Let's see, with the ignition key to the far left, no lights, or ignition(off position). First turn to the right should be "On"(lights, ignition, turn signals all working). All the way to the right should only turn on the rear tail light, letting you remove the key(Kawasaki calls this the parking position).

when I turn it all the way over the lights turn off as if I have no power -- does the tail light stay lit in this switch position?

Ohhh ok that make sense since the police had the lights on when they pull someone over, they stay on ok. I thought something was wrong but maybe it was just me thanks guys. Now all I have to figure out is where to connect those 3 wires at the very beginning. I have another wire coming off of the battery cable I wonder if that would work??
