Stock Exhaust System for 1000 LTD Models

I found the stock exhaust system from my 1980 KZ1000 LTD in my parents garage recently. I had removed it and stored it there in 1987. It looks like it will clean up nicely so I began to wonder if they are worth any money. Well it doesn't seem that they are from what I have found so far. They don't appear to be as valuable as a MKII exhaust or even the std A model exhaust from '77 or '78. Have you guys seen much of a demand for the stock LTD exahusts?

I'll probably end up keeping them with the hopes that I will someday be restoring an LTD to factory specs and might be able to use them. Any idea what years they would be correct for? They don't seem to have date codes or model numbers or anything like some other do. They just say "Jardine". I know they'll fit but would they also be correct for the '77-'79 LTD models? Any others?

BTW...couldn't find the stock air box or center stand or pollution parts or anything. I was hoping I had saved it all but I must have tossed it...who knew? That motorcycle was bone stock and just like new with 6,000 miles when I bought it in 1987.

I sold a pair from my 80 LTD that I had hanging up on the rafters in my garage since 83, they were in good condition, no dents or scratches, just some surface rust, I had them for sale for $125.00 on this forum, with a few people interested in them, but beware or the shipping charges because of their length & wieght...I live in the chicago area & the guy who bought them lived in New Mexico, shipping by UPS wanted $167.50, so I sent them by the cheapest USPS way which ended up costing the buyer $91.82....also about you not being able to find the center stand, you probably wont, because the 900/1000 LTD models did not come with center stands...Pete

While the stock Jardines may not generate much interest, DO NOT DISCARD them as they are very difficult to find as OEM replacements. Hold onto them...you'll not regret it later.

Look into Greyhound Package Express next time - www.shipgreyhound.com/ . $50 to ship just about anything that'll fit in the luggage area.

ABSOLUTELY. Hard to find, a restorer will want them.

I just checked all of the part numbers and the mufflers and pipes are the same for all LTD models '77 through '80. I don't see any date codes on mine at all....has anybody seen a date code on any LTD model? I'm thinking they might be correct for all 4 years. '76 900 LTD is totally different.

never heard of it, so I looked it up & the nearest greyhound package express is 50 miles away from me, but its good to know....thanks Pete
