I didn't think anything would make single wall pipes stop turning blue.

I"m trying what Patton does since I have the pipe off the bike, which is to paint the inside of the tubes with several thick coats of 1200 degree engine enamel, he says it works for him, so since I had the pipes off anyway, all I"ve got to loose is about $8.00, I saw a video on you tube about Blue job chrome polish & it removed all the blue & gold

+1 on that....its just the thin metal of the pipe...going to blue no matter what. I really dont see these products doing that great of a job.

I used blue job on a stock exhaust system. The stuff removed the brown stains from the mufflers, but it didn't do anything to the blueing on the headers, which was real bad. I think someone posted a blue job topic a few months back in which he had good results, so I guess it depends on how bad the staining is.

Martin, I have very light bluing, so if I can nip it in the butt,& remove what little bluing I have & the high temp paint trick works, its a cheap fix, if it does"nt...OH well... I"M sure you know that stock pipes are double walled, so if they were blued that bad, the the metal had to be blue all the way thru, ...you"ld never get the blue off....Pete

Is the blue on the headers bad, or everyone just wants it off their chrome? I think it actually looks good on my bike, matches my paint scheme.

I've used Blue Away. It works, but don't expect to wipe it on and off and have the blue gone. It will take an hour or more per header of hard rubbing, then since it's a form of light abrasive your chrome will never be as shiney as it once was. I'm still very happy I used it.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I really like pipes turned blue and gold, the fade is beautiful and so vibrant. Haha I wish my pipes were chromed just so they could turn blue at head.

Hey Je77ekz1000a that's a really nice job on your tank. I dig how bright clean and retro it looks.

I may have to try it, all I want to get rid of is the brown stains, I like the blue.
