Is this Push Rod FUBAR? was created by badrhino
I had developed a leak by push rod seal. SO I ordered a new seal. I got to looking at the push rod and noticed the notching. Hell I thought it was made that way. There is wear marks on both sides like someone had turned it around when the one side got to bad. Is the push rod supposed to be completely smooth from one end to the other? I suppose I need a new Push Rod now!

W T F?????
Yes that one is wacked! That should be the same all the way along. And the inside the engine piece has a dimple for the ball bearing that rides againt the clutch plate pusher.
I have had that ballbearing weld solid in the past. Try and take that apart!
And those rods are heat treated at the ends.
You cant just use a piece of straight rod.
That is why they make the roller bearing pusher for Hi perf. use.
Yours just shows alot of miles.
Time for a new one

Another question, what are the double grooves on the one side for? And is that the end that goes in the motor?

A new stock rod costs $23. I would think that would be less than the cost of having one made. Ed

I didn't see the one I needed at either of those places. I did find one at Power Sport Plus for $22.75 plus shipping in which is way cheaper than the other places.

Something strange going on here. I am a paid advertiser on this site, have been for years. If someone ask about a part we make and I post a link, the post disappears. Then someone else can post the same link and the post stays.
Mods, do you realize there is a problem here?
