oil in the stator cover

oil in the stator cover was created by spark23ca
is there supposed to be oil in the stator cover ..the seal does leak a small small bit ..but there is a hole that shoots oil right out ..i think it has a passage way to the to the mag side crank bearing ..the stator cover has been beat on with a chisel it looks like and i'm pretty sure its twisting when i tighten it up and the gasket is not squeezing

1982 kz 1000 ltd ..someone started to make a bobber out of it and realized it didnt' run and they didn't know how to run their wrenches

If its a kz 1000 or 900 it should have oil in stator

No mag on the Z1's,Kz900's,Kz1000's or Kz1100's. It's a magnetic rotor spinning around/next to the stator of the alternator, providing A.C. to the regulator/rectifier charging the battery.

thats what i thought ...these holes just must be a way for them to hold it while they cast it or maybe oil cooler lines...i know the main seal leaks a little ..but not too much...i'll figure it out i'll have posts of my build after i know more

That hole is for an alinement pin for the side case, so you cant mess up alinement.

if its an alignment pin shouldn't i have a dowel pin there ..i have none ...theres dowels that around two of the bolt holes and then theres the idler wheel shaft that has to line up ..
