Little Sally did some mods,
Her air box she replaced with pods,
Now her bike looks really cool,
In hopes the streets she now could rule,
Alas she tuned til Hell did freeze,
Then whipped and broken to her knees,
She cried aloud in deep despair,
For help from someone who might care,
Fear Not, Have Faith, the minions said,
And just ignore 650ed.

When it comes to airbox debates, its better to learn early on, Welcome our Asian Engineer Overlords, for they are the wise. IF its on the bike now, there is..........a reason......

Hi, my name is Medina
Hi Medina
Its been four motorcycles since I've chopped an airbox up
applause
I've had weak moments, but stayed true and just shinied something else to take my mind off it
applause
I had an intervention a week ago, another biker wanted to drill 1/2" holes all the way thru his muffler inserts
Oooooh
We convinced him to just put a card in his forks

No shit. Damn kick me in the ass! Those are pods. Cool so its alright to have the hose running from one suction cover to the other? But they dont need to breath in air?

Yes, those reeds are your intake system. Run the pods and the red powerband.

Pardon my bluntness [I assure you, no disrespect intended], but if you have to ask what pods are, you should find an airbox to install verses installing pods and spending the next 9 months getting the bike running properly.

In addition to searching on ebay, you could post a thread in the Parts Wanted section.

Good luck!

Kawasaki's "clean air system" injected additional air into the exhaust to help completely burn any residual fuel before it exhausted into the earth's atmosphere. And this design was reportedly proven to have almost saved 4 tadpoles in a pond near Lincoln, Nebraska.

For those hoards of uncaring EPA-hating reprobates seeking to simplify their motorcycles and conform them to other models around the world, the associated hoses and other paraphernalia are removed , and the intakes on the valve cover disabled by plugging, capping, or connecting them together.

Some folks plug the intake ports internally, and/or replace the valve cover with a non-vented version from a non-USA model.

Failure to cap, plug, or connect the intake nipples will probably cause popping in the exhaust.

Good Fortune! :)
