Andrews 3X Cams

I'm considering pulling my Andrews 3X cams and listing them on eBay. I searched eBay to see if any were listed and came upon this sale.

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kawasaki-Z1-KZ90...&hash=item588328b900

Any comments as to what the cams are worth?

My cams have been in my engine 12 years. I sometimes keep the engine on the shelf while I test engines on my bike. 1075 kit.

These cams are fun!! Roy

I sold my set for close to 300 a few months ago.

I can't find the ebay item anymore to be sure of the exact price.

Andrews 3X are nice!! .410" Bolt in, shim on top.
Nice sound for the engine, about 1500rpm when idleing, when running!
$200 is good! More your Lucky!
I'll give ya $100 right now! I sold a set like a dummy 5 yrs ago, for a 1 buck.

I got the stockers installed. Only two shims need moving around. Should have it finished by the time it gets hot.

IIRC, APE bought the rights to a couple of the Andrews cams, and one of them has .410 lift and can be used with shim on top. Is that the same cam?

We own the 8X and 5X . The 8X is our 410, probably the most popular KZ cam ever.

The 3X is .418 lift and a lot of duration. I didn't like that one because it would push the shim down into the groove in the bucket causing the other side to lift up. You could watch it do it when degreeing them. We figured it was way too scary to run as a shim on top.

I installed the engine three days before the event in Ohio. I haven't ran this engine in two years. I was testing engines with my bike.

I was use to dogging my bike around with the stock engines and when I installed this 1075 engine I had to do a lot more shifting. Plus it brought my fuel mileage down a little.

I had this 1075 engine built in 1999. Never had any problems with the shims. The mileage is so low on the engine that the shims that were originally put in the engine when it was built were still in there when I pulled the cams yesterday. Yamaha Y280 and Y290 I believe. Roy

I got every thing buttoned up. I did some extra maintaince type things.

The engine is so smooth. Now my lazy butt won't have to shift so much, plus gas mileage boost.

It will be interesting to learn how the 1075 runs with stock cams.

I installed a head with the casting flaws smoothed out. The carbs with pods actually whistle. Roy

3X cams rock! I had them in a 1075 street, drag bike. That thimg would idle along like a 1327 engine,
Everyone thought it was a big bike engine.
I had no problem with the shims on top. Kept them at .004"
I sold them off in a low compression (turbo) "Broadway Kaw" alcohol funny bike 1260cc engine, Pup milled the fins down! The first big block!
Anyone remeber this one?? Broadway Kaw, Richie Rich? with old 37mm round slides, ran 6.70's
Old school, 1983? WTF?
