anyone care to enlighten me where a good reliable source for OEM parts might be? I'm in western canada. It can be pretty pricey to order from local kawi dealers...

I believe Bike Bandit orders OEM from Kawasaki and gives you a discount off list price. They have all the Kawi explosion drawings and OEM part lookups on their site. Babbittsonline.com is another good one.

had mixed experience with cheapcycleparts.com in IN.

good prices, service OK-ish but they also sent me a cyl. base gasket without any backing, arrived totally bent...

No matter who you order your genuine Kawasaki parts from, they all get them from Kawasaki...unless they have the part in-stock, which is rare. So, what you should be looking for is who can (1) tell you if Kawasaki actually has the part, (2) how long it might take to get the part, and (3) the price of the part, and (4) do they require money up front before they answer question (1). I have dealt with a number of internet parts suppliers and the company that meets all my needs is clearly Z1Enterprises. They will tell you if the part is still available, the price, estimated shipping time, and don't require money up front (although that may be because I have been ordering from them for years :) )

I strongly agree with Mcdroid, I have been dealing with Z1Enterp. for more than a year, while I was working on an almost complete dissasembly / restoration of a 1975 Z1-B 900, their Technical Service People are VERY helpfull, will help source the difficult parts, their prices are fair and they tell you if they have the part in stock, if they have to order it, how long it will take and what the shipping and handling costs are.
I personally am EXTREMELY pleased with my experience with them and I have bought everything from $5 items to items costing a couple hundred dollars from them.
Can't go wrong with these folks!

One more vote for Z1E! Best parts people around. I buy absolutely everything from them. I think the only thing didn't buy from them for my build was my pistons.

I'd say I've purchased between $2500-3000 worth of parts from them over the years, and I have nothing but praise for Jeff and the boys!

As many of you know, Kawasaki.com lists whether or not the part you are looking for is active, active in limited quantity or cancelled. You can use this function before you go to your favorite online Kawasaki parts source. I have had great experiences from RonAyers.com.

Careful...I don't know how often Kawasaki updates their site but I have ordered parts that were listed as 'Active' only to have them ultimately declined because they were actually NLA and incorrectly listed...this is the same info as the dealers get (except they know the prices).
