If the crank is a kz1000 crank and it's not twisted, you're not likely to twist with a 1075 street motor. If you're putting a slick on it, that's another matter entirely
If you want to weld it and be done with it, call Pearson and arrange to have them do it. They just did J crank for me. Nice people, good work, fair price, good sense of humor, reasonable turn around time. I'm giving them a 10 out of 10
They put a real weld on the pins, not some tack job like I've seen other places advertise....
As long as you put everything in the bottom end together with solid components, adding the 1075 kit makes good sense. Later on if you have some money, you can get the breathing needs taken care of.
Get the valves out of the head, DO NOT clean anything in the chambers or the valves. Post up good photos of the valve seats & valves. A rebuild won't mean much if the valve job is toast.
NOTE:
Jim's starting work for me on Monday and he needs a head to practice on ... JUST KIDDING. He drinks so much Mountain Dew he could probably cut ports with a cutting bit and his bare hands :woohoo: And...he wanted all the Bon-Bons he could eat for a sign on bonus....Imagine that :silly:

Yes Larry "Please.... tell me you already planned on replacing the cam chain and rollers as a given before you even considered any performance options"
That's part of my definition of making it reliable first and performance second.

Give me RS34's, VM 29s, CRS29's, CRS33's Stock 28's ...hell it don't really matter if they're BS34s .... bring me the bike and I'll make any of them work on a 1075cc KZ motor...
But whatever you do, wear shorts because I can tell you first hand that zipping skin is painful
There once was a man from Nantucket,
Who soaked his old carbs in a bucket,
The bike wouldn't run,
He said this is no fun,
Tossed out the carbs and said "---- --"

take a good condition 900 or 1015 engine and if all is in good shape do the 1045 and do the couple hundred in a new timing and rollers...
then later clean up some ports maybe..then later if needed get a race lap on the valves and new guides ect....
or better yet
get a good condition 900 or 1015 and run it for 35 yrs without any problems.....
oh wait that wont impress my internet buddies...oh well
Well YEA...if you ride like old people have sex :woohoo:
