Will 78 KZ1000 valve cover fit Z1

Hi guys! Found a small crack in my valve cover near the rear left bot. It was spewing oil big time. Will a 78 KZ 1000 valve cover fit correctly on a 73 Z1? Thanks in advance.

If you have performance cams in the bike now, you might have to grind out the + marks inside the 78 valve cover for lobe clearance.

Thanks guys, I thought so , but wanted to make sure. I will definitely need to grind out the X's!

As others said, it will fit fine. The reverse is not true though. You cannot use a Z1 valve cover on the KZ1000's without changing out the top idler assembly. The KZ1000 covers have a modified casting where the center section has some 'blisters' to go around KZ1000 version of the top idler assembly.
