Man that engine is cleaner than factory. :)

Since I'm waiting for some parts to get in I think I'll make an atempt to do some more shining/cleaning on mine this weekend. I'll take som ebefore and after pics to see if it makes much differnce.

Some people make the mistake of thinking the engine is running hotter when it fact it's disipating heat a lot faster so it's actually running cooler. Its just that the human stood next to the metal thinks it's hotter because he's roasting whereas before it was painted he wasn't feeling so much heat....

As for making the cast parts look brighter etc: phosphoric acid works a treat, use it diluted, It's sold at truck stops under names like "trailer brite" etc
Brillo pads also work, but get the better kind.. not like a doofus friend of mine who bought the cheapest ones he could find & then discovered the soap was WATERPROOF:blink: (yes, really)
Castrol SuperClean contains enough phosphoric acid to whiten aluminum, but it will streak the polished engine covers (& strip the skin off your hands 3 days later).

i took my cases, jugs and head to a pro metal polisher. it was only $30-$40 a piece.the luster in unreal!he then told me to buy "zoopseal". (zoopseal.com)it's supposed to prevent any oxidation for up to 2 years.if i can evey figure out this camera and how to upload then i will post pictures on my profile.i have not assembled it yet so everyone can get a good look at the ports and all.
someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.
