Exhaust and jetting... was created by purls
Hi, I have an '82 750 Spectre I just paid 700 bucks for. Needs a little work, but I think I got a deal. Anyway, the bike had a header on it when I got it(4 to 1), so I'm assuming the carbs would have been jetted accordingly? I want to put another 4 to 1 back on it, but don't know the make of the old header, so I will just be buying what I want.

My question is, should I plan on rejetting to get things right after installing a new header? And, if so, is this a thing I could do myself (I know almost nothing about motorcycle mechanics)?

i had the same bike, mine had a Mac 4 into 1 on it with stock jets and it ran great, just keep the baffle in it. mine didnt have the baffle in it when i got it and i dug one up and stuck it in and it ran a lot better. man that bike was a runner, did great wheelies lol.

My 750 E3 ran ok with stock jets and a 4-1 exhaust. I did rejet after adding the pod filters though...much smoother idle now, and a little easier to start too :)
