I read on here about using chop sticks or pop sickle sticks to compress the rings. Worked like a charm for me. Plus the little wooden block to hold the pistons still was a big help.

chop sticks:

ok thanks guys, im probly just daydreaming, but ive been thinking about a big bore kit, Has anyone tried these www.dynoman.net/engine/pistons/kawa.html#gpz1100

I figure it will cost me about 200 for the top end gasket kit and new rings to fix it stock size, where the big bore kit will be about 500 plus boring but i was just curious as to what everyone on here has to say about them. like i said i probly will just fix it to oem but i like to dream i guess. Any thoughts?
