Hey Dave - any chance you can give us a shot of the connections on the cases?

DD... Let me know if you need some different images and I'll take some more if required... Fairly straight forward on the configurations....

NOTE: And yes before one of you wise asses pick up on it, I realize the inner coupler has oil streaks... The Oil Sending unit was loose at first... All better now....

Like that of a radiator, the oil needs to flow slow enough through the cooler to actually cool the fluid...

Actually, that's a misconception. The faster the liquid flows through the cooler, the hotter the cooler will be so the faster it will give off heat to the air coming through.

It's the temperature differential that matters. Heat transfer is fastest when the hot item (aluminum or brass fins) is much hotter than the cool item (incoming air).

This misconception comes from using a restrictor in the coolant line in old cars. In some old cars, to get more cooling, you put a restrictor into the cooling system. What people didn't realize is that the restrictor was being placed into a BYPASS line. This forced more coolant into the radiator which cooled the engine faster by pushing more coolant through the radiator faster.

So I looked at my 900 and I don't see quite the same connectors on the pressure switch - it looks like there is only a bolt for the pressurized side to be connected as seen here in attached image from Kawasaki part diagram.

Are those aftermarket adapters or from another model bike?

Probably I'm mistaken but this seemed OEM due to kawi oil cooler stamping, so I assumed OEM on the crancase mounts...
Plus the outer mount has a rounded top (casted) so lead me to believe the same...

Salvage yard, old rusted frame with sun baked engine etc...
Didn't catch the year or model # at the time...

Similar to these found at American classix.... $85 :pinch:

Hey Old man rock, your bike is totally awesome !! I like the cooler set up-. I just purchased the same professionally machined cooler ports from "American Classic". Did they come with gaskets ? I was looking at your chain gaurd, was the ordered from AC too ?

thanks - JAB
