KZ1000 Dyno Results!

Got my bike dynoed on a Dyno-Jet eddy-current brake dyno (not the inertia type).

Results? 103.5 HP, 66.8 TQ.

You can really see the big step at 5500 where the cams kick in.

I'm confused  Is that DJ chart for a stock KZ?

I don't see any RPM reading, only MPH.

Must be the bike in his signature. Sounds about right for a 1075 with cams, 34's and a 4 into 1.

Only difference to that post is that the lobe centers are at 107.5 now. The valves were getting just a wee bit too cozy with the pistons at 105. There was no contact but basically zero clearance. Redline is set at 9500 on this run. The throttle was clearly opened too quickly at too low an rpm at the bottom of the run (about 2200 rpm).

I looked at the build specs in the link you provided. Now it makes sense...

Do you happen to have the numbers with RPM ?

Also watched our .mpg video. Sounds real good. Nice & crip throttle response. What Tach is that you have? I like that :)

Sorry, no RPM numbers. Apparently, running non-resistor plugs scrambles the hell out of the rpm sensor on the dyno.

I used gearingcommander.com to figure out my RPMs.

Tach is Autometer Pro-Cycle.

procycle.autometer.com/CatalogGaugeDetail.aspx?gid=134

Electronic tach. It was a little jumpy just reading off one coil, so I wired in two diodes and ran it off signals from 2 coils, then told it to act like it was reading a twin.

No cables, wobbly needles, or messy oil leaks from the tach port here!
