just seeing if it would be a bad thing to run 20/50 in my 1982 gpz 750...i did do a search, but nothing worth while came up.

i use 20w50 in all of my air cooled bikes in the heat of summer. i switch to 10-40 in the spring and in the fall

It would not be a bad thing but it will rob you of power. Even Ford motors recommends 5W-20 in their Mustangs to increase power and fuel economy. If you run the lightest Shell Rotella-T you can find in your bike, It will give ALL the protection your bike will require without breaking the bank and destroying your power and economy. I run 10W-30 in my bikes and I think that most guys on this web sight will agree. It would not hurt anything if you add a few OZ of the new "Rislone with ZDDP" to your oil either. I buy my Rotella at Walmart in 2.5 Gallon buckets for about $23 when its on sale.

ive used 20/50 synthetic for years without issue,due to the way its made it has the basic consistancy of 40w dino bones but lubricates much better

Still recovering,some days are better than others.

Apparently you prefer to pay more for your oil which is OK if you have the big bucks. Us poor retired people have to save it where we can

I run the Rotella 10W-30 year round in the bike. Here in Chicago I ride down to 38F and it can get as hot as well over 100F.
