For the record, the MSDS sheet on STP oil treatment confirms they also add "proprietary zinc compounds" to the tune of about 3% of total volume of their product. I called them and they confirmed it does raise oil ZDDP levels back up to original levels.

Yes I do know that about STP, but it will also REALLY raise the viscosity of your oil. I like to run a very low viscosity oil. This is why I use the Lucas and Rislone additives, by themselves they are low viscosity. it is a known fact that lower viscosity fluids dissipate heat much better than high viscosity fluids.

I don't know what oil you currently use, but the heavy duty motor oils are usually the cheapest - Shell Rotella-T, Chevron Delo & Valvoline Premium Blue are three that I know of. They typically have about the same ZDDP as motorcycle oils & reacing oils and are suitable for motorcycle use. The Chevron Delo was $9.99/gallon at O-Reillys recently. The Rotella is typically in the $12/gallon range. I've never seen the Valvoline anywhere.

Walmart has the 2.5Gal 15W-40 Rotella-t for $27 when it is not on sale. that is $2.70/Qt not on sale. I have bought it before for $22.
